The Department is one of two which occupies the original Main School Building of 1930. Apart from Geography, which is situated adjacent, other departments have moved out into new accommodation as they have expanded over the last 20 years or so. English now has all of the western half of the Main Building, and its upper corridor can also be used as a study area.
