 Boys at Merchiston are very aware of the many benefits of a well-organized 'Gap Year', and senior boys have opportunities throughout the year to find out about the various opportunities available to them through the talks and presentations arranged.
Some boys have taken part in community service projects around the world. More and more are keen to work in schools overseas as Gap student helpers, and so we have worked hard to develop a network of contacts to allow our boys to gain such valuable 'life experience'. We are always willing to recommend boys whom we feel will do a good job in this demanding role and who will be good ambassadors for their school, their country and their family.
