The annual Book Passport Scheme started in the Spawforth Library on 7th May 2007. So far, 112 boys are taking part. Already 219 journeys have been undertaken.

  • Nicholas S who travelled from Edinburgh to Zaragoza, Spain completed the first trip. He was closely followed by Horace L and Benny K who travelled to Athens and Cairo.
  • The most popular destination, so far, is Cairo. Other well-visited destinations are Madrid, Rome and Sydney.
  • The fastest journey, so far, was made by Cameron N who travelled from Turkey to Abu Dhabi within a day. Cameron was the first 1st Form boy to complete a journey.
  • Lewis M was the first in the 2nd Form to complete a journey by travelling to Pompeii in Italy.
  • Everyone starts their travels from Edinburgh and this year there are prizes to be won at different stages. A plane, on completion of your first trip, a bookmark, after your second trip and a compass when you visit 3 different continents.
  • There are also the major prizes at three secret locations.
  • Angus P, so far, has undertaken the most remote journey. He is travelling to Macquire Island, south of Australia.
  • Along the way a lot of books are being read and travel information gathered.
  • Prizewinners will be announced on Friday 22nd June 2007 in the Spawforth Library.
