cricket Cricket is one of our three major sports. Each summer there is a full card of fixtures for all teams ranging from the 1st XI down to the U9 XI.  This card involves teams in over 150 fixtures with 15 teams participating. Development of basic skills starts in the Autumn Term for some XIs and proceeds through the Lent Term in indoor nets and on to the Summer term.

The 1st XI tour has travelled to Barbados five times  competing in the Sir Garfield Sobers International Cricket Festival, Holland twice, and has had numerous tours to England. The U15 XI are involved in an U15 Cricket festival whilst the U14 also tour England.

The Pringle 1st XI have been involved in tours to England and Ireland.

Currently three boys play for National XIs. The 1st XI have won the Lothian Schools Cup four times in the last six years. Last season 8 centuries, by four different players, were scored in the 1st XI,  and 19 half centuries in a strong batting line up. The school has recently gone through a period where the 1st XI played 58 school fixtures and won 55 of them.
