The Juniors had an exciting weekend, with 60 boys boarding in, including 9 boys on a 'taster weekend'.  On Saturday morning they had a variety of activities - some joining in with classes, while the younger ones had sport, games and crafts.  After lunch, and a magic show by Mr Lucas, all boarded a bus to head for Murrayfield to see Scotland play Romania.  For many of the boys who started Merchiston this year, and those on tasters, this was their first International rugby match, and it was made all the more exciting because of a Merchiston link.  Phil Godman, a Merchistonian, has come off the bench to play for Scotland in the past, but this was his first start and the Merchiston boys who have recently had a training session led by him on one of his visits to Merchiston, enjoyed cheering on Scotland's number ten.  There was certainly a huge cheer when he scored a try, as well as his penalty and five conversions, all of which played a big part in Scotland's 48-6 win.  In the evening the boys enjoyed a 'murder mystery' night, and Sunday saw them attend the Remembrance service and then go on a trip to the Time Capsule for swimming and ice skating.
