On Saturday evening, we held a Burns Supper, for parents and friends. It started with a sparkling reception in the Memorial Hall, followed by entertainment from the Pipe Band and then the traditional Burns Supper. Today, Tuesday 23rd, at lunchtime the youngest three year groups in the Juniors (age 8-10) celebrated with their own 'Burns lunch'. They sampled a traditional Scottish meal, with entertainment between courses from representatives of each class, including singing, piping, a violin duet and a flute and recorder duet.

Every January 25th, Scotland celebrates Robert Burns, our national poet, and at Merchiston we do it in style!
