Construction Challenge 2007

Having competed in the Edinburgh heat, we qualified for the Construction Challenge Final which was held on Friday last week. Our team was changed slightly, due to the fact that lots of the boys were ill, but we got our team and were excited about the final.

We started with a challenge called 'Can you hear me?' where we had to use materials to prevent noise travelling between boxes. We then had a difficult task involving us wiring a circuit, and a bridge building task. In the afternoon, 'Fiddler on the roof' saw us arranging roof tiles in a particular pattern, and we finished this task within 20 minutes! 'Arch Rivals' was all about us constructing a garden arch, and finally 'Here we go round the roundabout' was a task involving us simulating the Sherrifhall roundabout, creating the traffic light patterns in order to reduce queues as far as possible.

We came third overall, and won £150 for the Design department, and £10 each for ourselves!
