Running for Cricket

On Saturday 12th January, two of our pupils and one Merchistonian took part in the Great Winter Run in Edinburgh.  This run is 5k and takes place on Arthur's Seat.  They were running the race to raise funds for the Scotland Cricket Tour to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, this March.  Patrick Baker and Peter Legget have both been selected to play for the U15 team and Peter's brother Charles, a Merchistonian, will be playing for the U20 team.   Pictured here are Charles and Peter - Charles was 1st from the Scotland U20 team in a time of 20.39 and Peter was 1st in the Scotland U15 team in a time of 21.59.

Out of a field of 2,300 runners Charles was 70th, Peter was 140th and Patrick was 413th in 25.07

Peter was awarded The Young Cricketer of the Year Award this year by the Watsonian Cricket Club.
