Junior Music Competition

Tuesday 11th March saw the Junior Instrumental Cup Competition, which is open to all boys from J4 - II Form. Entrants included piano, clarinet, recorder, flute, violin, cornet and voice.

Mrs Avril Wilson, Headmistress of Balgreen Primary School was the adjudicator, and she found herself unable to award only three places, introducing a new category 'Highly Recommended', which went to Cameron who sang 'The Silver Swan' by Gibbons.

In 3rd Place, was Jamie, playing 'The Pink Panther' by Henry Mancini, on the cornet; while Charlie played a Bach Minuet to gain 2nd Place.

The overall winner was Fingal, who is a multitalented musician, playing piano, clarinet and recorder. His winning piece was 'Coffee and Croissants' by Alan Bullard, which he played on the recorder.
