Following on from the great success in the Senior Mathematics Challenge, some 49 boys from Shell and V Forms took part in the Intermediate age group Challenge in February. The results are just in and they are stunning. There were 34 awards made from our entry of 49, including 11 Gold awards. 2 of our candidates have been selected to progress to the next stage of the Challenge, the Maths Olympiad, and a further 5 have qualified for the European round, known as the 'Kangaroo': these events take place in the summer term. Worthy of special mention here is Horace, whose score of 123 is the second highest in the history of the School's participation in the competition – a fantastic achievement .
We would also like to thank the Works Department for their help in refurbishing and redecorating one of our classrooms, M1 (see photographs) – our next target in this area is to redecorate the upstairs and downstairs corridors.
