Pagan Osborne Sevens

Sandwiched between two very wet and windy days, we were pleased that on Sunday 10 March the weather was clear (albeit very cold) for the Pagan Osborne Merchiston Sevens.

With 28 teams competing, from Scotland, North of England, and St Joan of Arc School who were touring from Canada, it was a very busy day.  In the Under 14 age group, a tight final saw Watson's run out winners over last year's winners at this level, Stewart's Melville.  In the Under 15s Stewart's Melville were again in the final, against Merchiston, and the match was tied 26 all at the final whistle; Merchiston went on to score in extra time to win the competition at this level.

In the U18 Plate competition, Robert Gordon's were the winners, while in the main cup the Merchiston A team triumphed for the first time since 1993. 

The team now head to Rosslyn Park to play in the National Schools Sevens at the end of the week.
