Last week, eight of our boys took part in the Scottish final of this competition. Six of them won prizes (this is the largest number of prizes that we have won in one go, certainly in recent years) and two of them were invited to compete in the national final in London next March.
The prize winners are as follows:
Grant H (Cake Cutter)
- Best Product Development and Marketability
Shea G (Hammock stand)
- Best Manufacture and finish
Campbell P (Wireless charger)
- Best integration of electronics
Rickie C (Water bottle filler)
- Best Design, innovation and marketability
Ruaridh M (Sawhorse chainsaw attachment)
- Best Manufacture and finish
Cameron Shaw (Portable ramp)
- Overall winner and Scottish representative in the Young Engineer for Britain final
Ruaridh was also invited to re-develop his sawhorse chainsaw attachment and enter into the YE for Britain final. This is the first time we have known a non-overall winner being invited to the final.
In addition to last Thursday's successes, we are still waiting to hear how we have done in the TDI awards. This is a national competition for Design, Innovation and Engineering.
