On Monday 15 June author Nicola Morgan visited Merchiston to promote her new book, Deathwatch. The book is a chilling modern thriller, featuring a stalker, insects, the internet, and an ordinary girl who only wants to be a brilliant athlete and hang out with her friends!
Nicola is a regular visitor to the School and a favourite author of the boys. She joined Junior pupils in the Spawforth Library to read extracts from her book, answer questions and autograph copies. The event is one of a series of visits to schools throughout Edinburgh, as she tries to break the Guinness World Record to do the most school visits of an Author in one day.
After visiting five other Edinburgh schools Nicola finished her whirlwind tour, aptly named the ‘Death Watch Dash’ at Merchiston.
The book is one of many novels Nicola has written for young people, along with her studies on exploring the teenage mind.
Nicola commented: “I set the new book in my street, using my home as the setting; I like to stick to what I know though nothing as scary as Deathwatch has ever happened to me!”.
The new book, Deathwatch, joins the full series of Nicola Morgan books in the Spawforth Library.
