The 1st XI led by the experienced Will Quin completed an outstanding season in which they won all their school fixtures. Anybody who knows anything about cricket will realise just how hard this is to do! In fact it is unprecedently the second time the 1st XI have won all their school fixtures in three years. They also won the Lothian Schools Cup by defeating Edinburgh Academy by 9 wickets. In the last three seasons the 1st X1 have played 32 school fixtures and won 31 of them. The Tour to Barbados was successful. The standard was extremely high playing against schools who play cricket for, yes, 12 months of the year. This to our 10 weeks. This plus the heat makes for a very tough physical and mental challenge. The boys did very well to win 3 of the 8 games but should have won a fourth. The coach is never satisfied!!
