Domestic Staff

• We provide housemothers for the six houses. Each housemother works closely with the Housemaster and pupils.

• Term time meetings take place with each Housemaster to get valuable feedback on the services provided.

• Each area in the school is audited every term. This includes the houses, classrooms, sports facilities, front of school etc. To pass an area must achieve 90%. Action plans are implemented and followed up.

• All staff are trained to BICS Level 1.( British Institute for Cleaning Science). We are able to provide this training on site.

• We were awarded the British Cleanability Award gaining 4 stars in 2006.

• Micro fibre clothes have been introduced. This helps environmentally and helps reduce dust travel.

• Feed back forms are issued after every requested set up.

Porters

• Our porters are vital to the daily running of the school. They transport a lot of equipment around the school, set and change the Memorial hall for a variety of functions and services.

Laundry Services

• We have a main laundry that deals with each houses laundry and sports kit.

• Each house has a small laundry where housemothers will wash personal laundry, pupils only need to ask.

• In Evans should pupils wish to use the machines themselves then June (house mother) will be happy to train them.

• We are using non-biological powder where possible. We hope to have the main laundry and Pringles transferred to non-bio soon.

• Pringle house has a larger laundry that deals with all the washing required for the Pringle Boys.

• Laundry is also sent out. This is mainly bedding and also suits and shirts.

Seamstress

• We have our seamstress available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8.00am - 2.00pm.

• Clothes are repaired and altered as required. Personal items will also be named.

• No request is too small.

We issue surveys to the whole school twice a year asking for their views on the service provided, standards, staff approach and professionalism.
