Established in 2011, Merchiston’s week long intensive golf training programme allows keen golfers to develop their swing technique and overall understanding of the game. Golf takes place at the world class facility of nearby Kings Acre Golf Course & Academy, which is a par 70, 18 hole course set in beautiful parkland.
Few golf academies can rival the set-up at Kings Acre with its internationally renowned instruction. The fantastic facilities include 30 covered bays, four fully equipped teaching studios and a short game area with two USGA greens, making Kings Acre the ideal venue for the Merchiston Summer Golf Programme.
The golf camp is open to boys who are experienced players aged 12-17 who have an existing golf handicap and hold membership of a golf club. There are 10 spaces available.
Throughout the week, players will:
- Receive dedicated professional coaching throughout the day
- Take part in workshops and seminars to enhance strategic and tactical skills
- Receive on-course guidance and play alongside PGA professionals
- Compete together in a series of week-long competitions at Kings Acre with the possibility of local boys’ opens
- Enjoy themselves, have great fun and meet new friends
The camp is available as either a day or residential programme which includes five nights with full board plus a fully supervised evening schedule. This is the recommended option as it offers considerably more than the five full days golf coaching. There are evening sessions which offer the golfers opportunities to take part in a variety of sports as well as entertainment options, which give the players the opportunities to make friends and to experience life away from home but in safe and supervised surroundings.

Using the latest sports science research and techniques, players will be helped to acquire, produce, build and retain accuracy on a more consistent basis.
