Why not experience some of the very best rugby coaching available this Summer?
Merchiston Castle School is renowned as one of the UK's leading rugby schools and each summer run their own performance rugby camp, aimed at those boys wanting to take their rugby to the next level.
What sets the Merchiston camp apart is the fact that it is an innovative development programme, which aims to train attendees in the manner of professional players with a focus on all round improvement.
The week long intensive course not only offers plenty of practical Skill Development training sessions, but also seminars on nutrition, strength and conditioning, injury management, rehabilitation, and game analysis; giving players an all round education on how to improve both their rugby skills and physical fitness.
There are daily recovery sessions in the school swimming pool and each player will be given a performance report card at the end of the week with his strengths, opportunities for improvement, and an action plan for the coming year within it, so that they can see real benefits in their rugby in the season following the camp.

The camp is available as either a full day or residential programme, with the residential option including five nights full board plus a fully supervised evening schedule. The latter is the preferred option as it allows us to offer considerably more than just the rugby coaching, with evening sessions in touch rugby, street dance and even yoga, plus a trip into Edinburgh to see a show at the Festival Fringe. It also gives many of the players a chance to experience being away from home by themselves for the first time and the opportunity to make new friends.
Feedback on the camp is amazingly positive with parents telling us it was "the best coaching my son has ever had" and that "the boys loved the course and had a really good time, we would definitely do it again next year".
