An adventure away from home

Merchiston is a leading boys' boarding and day school in Edinburgh, widely recognised for its sporting excellence and the extremely high standards of pastoral care received by its students.

Voted the 'Scottish Independent Secondary School of the Year 2009' by The Sunday Times, Merchiston is situated in Colinton 5 miles from Edinburgh city centre, with its own sports hall, swimming pool, squash courts and various sports pitches which will all be available for participants to use and enjoy.

If you choose the residential option you can be sure that your child will be well looked after. House staff live in with the boys and supervise all evening activities, which include swimming, team games, DVD nights and a trip to experience the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. There will always be first aid qualified staff on duty and a nurse permanently on call.

The cost of the residential programme includes accommodation and all meals and drinks. The Merchiston catering team are holders of the 'Healthy Eating Award' and the food provided encourages healthy choices. All dietary requirements can be catered for but please be sure to make these clear in advance on your booking form. For those booked on a day programme the cost will only include lunch.
