boys in pringleI'm new to the school so the Merchiston experience is completely new to me. The experience that was the biggest change for me was being open to so many new things to do like junior activities on Tuesdays and Fridays when you do sailing, mountain biking, cooking; the choices are endless. Other new experiences for me were having so many responsibilities, such as being J4/J5 helpers, where you look out for the younger boys. At Merchiston you get to meet other years and everyone respects each other, and it's like one big community.

At Merchiston all the teachers and staff always are friendly and kind and quite willing to show you the way if you are lost or need help. Mrs Wearmouth, if you're sick or need someone to talk to or are just homesick, always seems to find a way to make you feel better - no matter what's wrong.

When I first came to Merchiston I didn't know what to do but the boys welcomed me into the community and told me what to do and where to go for my lessons. I quickly made friends with the other boys around me.
