Pringle Leadership Team

Head of Junior School and Housemaster of Pringle (8-11): Peter Hall

Prior to his appointment as Housemaster of Pringle in 1994, Peter Hall, an Oxford graduate, was Head of Drama at Merchiston. To date, he has spent his entire teaching career in a boys-only environment, having taught at Windsor Boys School before joining Merchiston. He is Head of the Junior section of the school. His wife, Marjorie, is Head of the Lower School at St George's School for Girls, Edinburgh. The couple have two university-age children, Catriona and Alastair.
Tel/fax: 0131 312 2240.

Housemaster of Pringle Third Form (12+): Richard Lucas

I teach Mathematics and have been at Merchiston since 1995, moving from a school on the Isle of Wight. I recently took a year off to study theology, philosophy and counselling. My wife, Mairi, and our two young children are very much part of the house community. Being something of an amateur magician, I run a magic club for Third Form.

Prefects:

Students in their final U6 year are an integral part of the leadership and pastoral care in Pringle. We have six resident prefects and a further 8 non resident prefects. As well as helping with duties, such as prep supervision and bedtime, the prefects know their charges well and become an additional layer of support.
