Maths Fun Day 2017
8th March, 2017
The annual Maths Fun Day took place on Thursday 2 March. It is an activity for Primary 5 children which involved almost 130 children from thirty-two different primary schools. In the morning, they played mathematical games and solved puzzles in teams of four. After a substantial lunch, they were ready to compete in the relay, in which they work in pairs on challenging mathematical questions.
Although the activity is in the form of a competition, the main aim is to encourage the teams to enjoy themselves. Judging by the children’s smiling faces and shrieks of excitement, the goal was completely achieved! Many thanks from the Mathematics Department to Mr Lucas, who once again superbly organised the event and used his creativity to introduce new questions and challenges.
