Ruth Davidson visits

We were delighted to welcome the Leader of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist party, Ruth Davidson, to the School yesterday.   A level Government and Politics were joined by pupils from other Edinburgh schools to hear her speak briefly about the future of her party before she answered questions for the remainder of the session.  A vast variety of topics was raised including the independence debate, university fees, prison sentencing and welfare reform. 

The pupils offered insightful comments and had some challenging questions for Ms Davidson, and pupils and staff were grateful to both her, and Gordon Macdonald who visited last week: both showed great openness in being willing to answer all questions.
