The Golf Academy has three programmes, each with a tailored schedule and the appropriate level of training and conditioning to match the talents and skill levels of the individual golfer.
Age: 8 to 18 This programme is for boys of all abilities, from beginners to the more accomplished. Pupils will take part in group coaching sessions, skill challenges, short game exercises, on-course participation and par 3 competitions. Golfing etiquette and rules quizzes will also be sprung upon the boys from time to time!
Age: 12 to 18 This Intermediate Programme offers a greater intensity of learning and developing skills. This programme is an important learning stage and influential in the progress of development in a pupil's golfing career. Merchiston instructors will guide, monitor and assess pupils through the three key areas of overall performance which lead to development: 1) Technical Profile 2) Physical Profile and 3) Performance Profile.
Age: 12 to 18 The Elite Programme is for golfers who are already accomplished. With time well spent on coaching, plus time for practice and competitions, it is designed to give pupils advice, support and direction, which is aimed at improving their overall performance and potentially leading to a career in the game of golf. Elite learning takes place within a variety of contexts, and the Kings Acre environment will unquestionably influence players' performance and promote improvement. Key golfing guests will be invited to host workshops furthering the development of our elite athletes.
