Prospective Parents & Boys

Life at Merchiston from 8 to 18

For both prospective parents and pupils, it is useful to get a sense of what the 'Merchiston Journey' is like, whatever the age on entry. Boys will be presented with a dazzling array of opportunities and choices. They will be challenged: they will have the opportunity to find the subjects, sports and activities they enjoy, and they will grow and mature as the crucial years of development from boy to man pass.

The School's goal is to help every boy reach his full potential - and leave Merchiston ready for the world.

On this page you can find our interactive 'Merchiston Journey'. This helps to give prospective parents and boys a sense of what life at Merchiston is like and bring some aspects of the School to life.

It follows two typical (imaginary) boys, James and Rory, charting some of the highlights and hurdles of their journey through the school. Click below to explore the life of two these two boys.
