Rowing

Rowing is an activity available three times a week throughout the year to Senior School boys. There is access to the Union Canal within easy reach of the School where boys practise. We are affiliated with St Andrew Boat Club, and compete for both them and as Merchiston. We sweep fours and pairs and scull Quads, Doubles and Singles. Some boys also experience rowing in Eights.

Three Merchiston boys compete at the Scottish Schools Championships on the Union Canal at Kilsyth.

Boys compete in the Scottish Schools championships, as well as various Regattas at Strathclyde Country Park and elsewhere, and the Scottish Indoor rowing Championships in the winter.

Rowing is coached by Miss Tully and two of the St Andrew Boat Club coaches.
