Shooting

Merchiston has a long history of target rifle shooting and has its own indoor 25 m range within the school grounds. The disciplines of small and full-bore shooting are both catered for and include outdoor domestic competitions culminating in the Ashburton at Bisley at the start of each summer holidays.

There is also a keen following for Clay Pigeon shooting at present.

Boys compete at Bisley every year.
