1st XV coach attends 6 Nations conference

21st May, 2014

Roddy Deans, one of Merchiston’s 1st XV coaches, and coach to the Scotland U16 side, is attending the RBS 6 Nations Coaching Conference in Baldon, France, this week. Along with other professional and club coaches, including Duncan Hodge and Gregor Townsend, Roddy has grasped this tremendous opportunity to further develop his coaching skills. The conference is themed around developing high performance behaviours. Previous guest speakers have included Didier Retier (Assistant Technical Director, FFR) and Graham Henry (Former New Zealand National Coach). The candidates were chosen on the strength of their application, based on what they wanted to gain from the experience; which elements of their coaching they wanted to work on and how they intend to share the information with other coaches on their return. Merchiston is delighted that Roddy has been selected to take part in what promises to be an informative and stimulating opportunity.
