Treasure Island

We are delighted to invite you to an exciting evening of theatre at Merchiston Castle School as our talented crew of pupils from III Form to UVI present Bryony Lavery's thrilling adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic "Treasure Island".

On the 30th of October, as part of the arts programme at Merchiston, we set off to see the play, “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams. This production is relevant to us, as it is incorporated into the curriculum of the Sixth Form.

Drama Showcase

During the Lent and Summer terms boys from the Pringle Centre enjoyed taking part in weekly drama lessons as well as signing up for Drama Club as part of their activity programme.

We have a special relationship with our sister school, St. George’s School for Girls, Edinburgh.

The arrangement allows your son to focus on study in school time but also socialize and make friends with girls in the normal way through joint expeditions, concerts, tours, seminars, Combined Cadet Force, debating, social events and study courses.

You can enjoy a reduction in fees if you have three or more children at Merchiston and one of our sister schools. We aim to align term dates, wherever possible, to make it easy for you as a parent with children at different schools.

Whether it is juggling motherhood with training or winning the 800m in front of millions at home, she (Jessica Ennis-Hill) can do it all. Simply seeing Jess's success encouraged me and gave me the confidence to throw myself at sport.
