Sixth Form Award

Boarding at Merchiston has really set me up. Not only what I experienced when I was there, but also now I feel confident that nothing can stop me from realising my dream to become a lawyer.

If your financial circumstances prevent your son from joining Merchiston, you may qualify for our new Award that could support up to 75% of your son's annual Sixth Form (S5/Year 12 entry) fees; that is a staggering potential award valued at just over £26.000. The Sixth Form (S5/Year 12 and S6/Year 13)  is designed to bridge the gap between school and the next step into adulthood and is the ideal preparation for university and life beyond, wherever that takes your son.

Our aim is to ensure that affordability is not a barrier to learning, so we are hoping to support boys from households who fulfil our means-testing criteria and show the potential and ambition to succeed in Merchiston’s Sixth Form.

In these difficult times, we are delighted to be offering this award which aims to prevent affordability being a barrier to learning. Merchiston provides a world-class, global, outward-looking education in a connected community where every individual matters. The Sixth Form is designed to bridge the gap between Sixth Form and the next step into adulthood and is the ideal preparation for university. We hope that through supporting boys from households which fulfil our means-testing criteria, we will be able to provide a transformative experience which helps them fulfil their potential and achieve their life ambitions.
