Merchiston Tennis Academy: U15 and U18 Players Achieve National and International Success
Merchiston

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Merchiston Tennis Academy players, both on the national and international stage. Our U15 team recently secured second place at the British School Championships in Nottingham, while also being crowned North of England Champions.

U15 Team Shines in British School Championships

Over two intense and inspiring days, our U15 boys showcased exceptional teamwork, resilience, and leadership. School tennis provides a unique environment for young athletes to develop composure, strategy, and perseverance, and the team’s performance was a perfect example of these qualities in action. Competing against over 600 schools and 1,200 teams from across Scotland and the North of England, their podium finish is a remarkable achievement for a school of our size.

International Success for Edrik K.

Merchiston’s talent extends beyond school competitions. Edrik K recently won his first U18 International Tennis Federation tournament in Liverpool, taking the doubles title and reaching the singles semi-finals after progressing through qualifying. Achievements like this demonstrate the high-level coaching, ambition, and support provided by the academy.

Why Merchiston Tennis Academy Delivers Results

At the heart of these successes is our fully integrated academy programme. Players benefit from professional coaching, sports science support, personalised performance plans, and access to world-class facilities. The structure allows boys to balance rigorous training with academic studies, developing as athletes, learners, and team players.

For a school of our size, competing and succeeding at national and international levels is extraordinary. We are immensely proud of our U15 team, Edrik, and all academy players. Their dedication, spirit, and performance continue to raise the bar for school tennis in Scotland and beyond.
