Friday 22 November saw the School’s choral and instrumental concert, the culmination of the hard work put into rehearsals this term.
The Choral Society opened the concert performing three Queen hits Don’t Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You and Another One Bites the Dust followed by the Wind Band who did a performance with two pieces, West Side Story and the theme from The Incredibles. Next, the Close Harmony Group sang some Scottish and English songs in preparation for their trip to America.
The jazz band was up next, and soloist Hector wowed the audience with an improvised solo. These musical performances were punctuated by wonderful solos from Angus who played Aria by Bozza on flute, Alex who sung Sleep by Ivor Guerny, Evan who played a concerto on the horn by Strauss and Teddy who played Melody in F by Rubinstein. Lastly, the pipe band finished off the night with three different traditional pieces.
The concert was received well by a large audience of teachers, pupils, and parents. Congratulations to the music department and all the boys who contributed to an evening of choral and instrumental music.
