A Scottish team including VI Form pupil, Cameron, won the Nations Cup for the first time since it was inaugurated in 2005. The tournament was held in conjunction with the first two rounds of the McGregor Trophy at Radcliffe-on-Trent Golf Club, Nottinghamshire in July.
The trio combined to claim a five-shot lead over an Italian team on five under par 275 in a competition in which the best two scores out of three counted in each round.
This month and post exams, Cameron’s form continued as he clocked up a course record at a Junior Tour event in Dornoch, won the Scottish Open U16 at the Royal Burgess and placed second in the English U16s – losing by one shot.
Cameron said “The relief of finishing my exams has meant I can really focus on my golf and work harder at it. I’m feeling good and looking forward to the rest of the season”
