Merchiston pupils will be on Half Term holiday on 12 February, so Mrs Chang organised some activities for us to celebrate together in advance of the big day.

There was a Zoom cookery lesson for pupils to learn how to make dumplings: the 'must have' dish on the Chinese New Year dinner menu in north of China. Shell Form made a Chinese New Year poster, Fourth Form learnt to write a Chinese New Year couplet, and Third Form did paper cutting (the Chinese character they cut is 'spring' 春). People in China put these paper-cuts on the windows and doors to celebrate the start of Spring.
