Each week, Xander (in Third Form) inspires a future generation of bakers by cooking up a storm and producing a loaf in the Pringle House kitchen. This week it was soda bread:
"We made soda bread this week, which scraps the yeast raising agent and replaces it with bicarbonate of soda. The boys can now clearly see how making traditional bread is extremely laborious compared to this method, as there is no kneading or rising involved! They thought it had a similar taste to a scone and smelt very strongly when fresh out the oven. A crowd gathered once the loaf had cooled and it disappeared almost instantly! Many positive comments were made by very hungry boys and Xander is already planning next week's bake!"
