On Tuesday 5 February, we all travelled down to Stewart’s Melville College, to spend the morning with the other boys studying French. This was a unique opportunity for both the Stewart’s Melville and Merchiston boys, to further our speaking skills in the language.
During the day, we did various activities ranging from debates to interpreting a film, which were all a great success. The debate question was centred around the idea of “all boys schools vs mixed schools”. This created some good discussion and it was nice to see that most boys participated, expressing their view. On the whole, it was a good day, with plenty of interaction and French being spoken and I am sure that all pupils came away with a lot in terms of our spoken French.
