senior pupil running on the track

Following on from our very successful ‘Race to Twickenham’ Clan challenge, starting tomorrow, we are going to try and go one step further - this time, teaming up with our friends from St George's School for Girls as we march towards the Stade de France in time for the France v Scotland Six Nations match on Sunday 28 February. It will be a challenge that boys, parents and staff can get involved in. Boys and their parents will again be competing for their Clans but they will also be contributing towards an overall total against St George's. Please see some more details below:

What is it?
This is a walking, running or cycling competition open to the whole Merchiston Community. We have calculated that this overall distance is 1081km from Edinburgh (Merchiston) to the Stade de France.

How long will the race last for?
The race will take place from Thursday 18- Sat 27 Feb

How do I sign up and register my runs?
Participants will be registering their runs on Strava (or Google Classroom for Junior pupils).

Is there a maximum amount of exercise you can submit per day?
Yes. Each participant can submit a maximum of one run and one cycle per day. Each cycle or run needs to be continuous but no limit on the distance covered.

Who wins?
There will be two winners announced. Merchiston or St George's in the Whole School Race and also separate Clan winners for the boys in our internal race.
