On Saturday 23 March, we hosted guests from St George’s and Kilgraston for the final social of the school year, the Highland Ball.
LVI and UVI Form boys gathered in the Old Library to welcome the guests with a short drinks reception. Following this, partners lined up and Ben piped everyone upstairs into the Memorial Hall for the Grand March leading into the first reel of the evening. We enjoyed a great program of dancing led by the band, Clappy Doo, with Mr Bogdon doing a fantastic job calling each reel.
We moved to the Dining Hall for a fantastic Moroccan chicken dish and custard tart dessert served up by the magnificent Catering Staff. Charles led the vote of thanks before everyone moved back to the Memorial Hall for the second half of the dancing program. The night ended with a suitably raucous version of Auld Lang Syne and no ceilidh injuries to report!
With special thanks to Mr Bogdon who called the dances on the evening and at our practice earlier in the term.
