We are delighted to welcome 24 boys old and new to Merchiston today! Today sees the start of the 14-day quarantine period with boys returning and arriving from Ukraine, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Mexico, China, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Romania. To ensure their arrival is as smooth as possible, we will be accommodating their quarantine in Laidlaw North and for the Juniors, Pringle House. During the two weeks, the boys will be able to take part in an activities programme which includes on-campus activities, time to relax in the library and have the opportunity to recuperate from their travels back to School.
Mr Rowlands, Housemaster of Laidlaw North, is one of the members of staff looking after the boys during quarantine and has shared his excitement about welcoming the boys back.
“This will mark the start of a return to school routine for these boys after a prolonged period of physical absence and, while we are sure they will be a little apprehensive, we also hope that they are as excited to return as we are to welcome them back. The Houses are set up to ensure the comfort and safety of all boys and staff and, within the medical guidelines, there will be several socially-distanced activities each day to keep the boys entertained and stimulated.”
