Each year in the lent term a group of our Junior students put on a drama production. This year it was the turn of our youngest boys in J4 and J5 to tread the boards and strut their funky stuff in the theatre. Unfortunately, this was a production that was never to be seen by an audience. With the UK Covid-19 lock-down on the horizon, we halted rehearsals early to focus on filming the production so far. This was great pity at the time and a disappointment for everyone after so much hard work had already been put into our preparations.
However today it means that we are excited and delighted to finally be able to share with you the J4 and J5 production of The Twits! as filmed in March 2020.

Watch the video here.

The Twits by Roald Dahl has become a favourite story for our junior boys during rehearsals. It tells the story of the disgusting, smelly Mr and Mrs Twit (Adam and Idrees). Going about their revolting lives. Including, playing nasty tricks on each other, catching and training monkeys (Hamish, Freddie, Arjun, James and Toby) for their great upside down circus and trying to catch birds (Ruaidhri and Lewis) for their bird pie using evil plots. When they fail and catch some unfortunate boys instead, (Iain, Drew, Raife, Issa)! will the boys escape or be made into "boy pie" for Mr Twit's dinner?

In the end it all goes wrong for the Twits and they find themselves the victims of their own cruelty with only Fred the gas-meter-reader (Aziz) to wonder whatever happened to them? All of this accompanied by the most flamboyant and funky narrators we have ever seen (Freddie, Lucas, Oliver, Calum, Callum, Muhammad, Stepan).

The show was to feature 21 of our J4 and J5 students with technical and backstage support coming from our extremely talented senior boys. We were disappointed to not perform it for you live but we are delighted to be able to share our work with you today.

They're shocking!
They're Smelly!
They're Silly!
They're stupefyingly stupid!
Get Ready to meet..... The one and only (thank goodness!!!)
The Twits!
