Well this is the lovely sunrise that greeted us this morning, bright and crisp and with an element of ‘keeping one honest’ after our incredibly mild start to the year, we actually are a long way progressed with the blossom on the trees in the Chalmers quad, and the daffodils more than peeking through on the elbow of the drive, as seen in the pictures.

The weather has been indeed very kind to us and to that end we have been able to cut and strim what we call the hub of the school, here is Ali with the finishing touches at the back of Laidlaw.

With all this ambient weather we have not lost a single rugby/ football match and or training session, so our normal maintenance work over the half term break is even more vital as the pitches are just starting to look a little worse for wear…..mind you it is February and although we had a mild start to the year, it has been a pretty wet one. We stole a march yesterday and got cracking on the 1st XV pitch. A pic from our twitter video of yesterday.

With all of the activity going on, the work continues on the Tennis Academy dome and the constant hum of machinery reminds us of this on a daily basis. Here is a photo of the current goings-on.

Much goings-on!!!

Well that’s about a wrap, as the boys pick up their ‘goods and chattels’ and head for the four corners of the globe they will be greeted by the most marvellous day!

We have now been let loose on Twitter so please do follow us @MerchiGrounds to keep up to date on all things green and growing.

All the best for half term.
