Please don’t be offended if your son loves weekends at Merchiston. It’s hard to resist exciting activities, fun and sport with all your friends.
We appreciate that each family’s circumstances and rhythms are different so we try to be as flexible as possible about going home or seeing parents at weekends. He will be expected to stay in school for designated ‘boarding-in’ weekends, but otherwise, ‘leave-out’, as we call it, is by arrangement with your son’s House Parent.
Weekends are fairly structured, particularly in the younger years, but just like at home there is plenty of downtime built in for relaxation and recharging for the week ahead too.
