Outreach & Partnerships

We are pleased to open up aspects of School life to the wider community. Our Memorial Hall, for example, is regularly used by the Colinton Community Choir, providing a welcoming space for rehearsals and performances.

Community engagement is also central to our calendar of events. Our annual Christmas Fair brings together local businesses, families and visitors, raising funds for local causes while celebrating the season and supporting the local economy.

We work closely with local primary schools through initiatives such as our MerchiSTEAM Day for local state and independent primary schools, which offers hands-on activities designed to inspire curiosity and engagement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In addition, our librarian organises author events for local schools, helping to encourage a love of reading beyond our own community.

Pupil involvement is a key part of our outreach programme. Through volunteering in local primary schools and participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, pupils develop leadership skills while making a meaningful contribution to the community.

Together, these partnerships reflect our belief that education should extend beyond the classroom and that schools can play an active role in strengthening their local area.
