Swimming

swimmers preparing to dive at start of race

The School has a long tradition in swimming and the boys have been successful in the Edinburgh Schools Championships and also on the Scottish stage.  The School has an indoor four lane 25 yard pool and it is one of the most used facilities on the campus.

As part of the Physical Education programme all boys up to the Fifth Form have at least one swimming lesson per week. We see swimming as a life skill and by the end of every school year we ensure every boy can swim.

The school team trains twice a week; however, we have strong links with Warrender Swimming Club, and therefore our elite swimmers access the club programme to fulfil their training schedule. The team’s competitive programme is based round four events: The Edinburgh Schools Championships, School Fixtures, The Scottish Schools Team Relays and the traditional School Gala. These events are  spread out throughout the school year.
