Duncan Moore BSc, MPhil, PhD Director, Merchistonian, Deputy Chairman of the Board
Duncan is a Merchistonian who attended the School between 1972 and 1976.
Following Merchiston he went to the University of Leeds and studied Biochemistry and Microbiology before moving onto the University of Cambridge where he completed a PhD in Biochemistry. Whilst at Cambridge he co-founded a molecular diagnostics company which led to a 20 year career in capital markets where he specialised in healthcare companies at the US investment bank Morgan Stanley. Since leaving Morgan Stanley in 2006 he has worked in private equity, backing various healthcare companies in South East Asia as well as in the UK. He is currently Chairman of Lamellar Biomedical which is a Scottish biomedical enterprise based near Glasgow. He is married to Susan Hahn and they have three children. Duncan divides his time between Edinburgh and London.
