J4/5 trip to Broomlee Outdoor Centre
27th October, 2017
On Thursday 12 October, 18 excited J4/5 boys set off for Broomlee Outdoor Centre in West Linton, to embark on a day and a half of team-building exercises. For some, it was the first time they had spent a night away from home, and so there was a degree of nervous anticipation.
On arrival, we were shown our accommodation, and the first task was for us to make our beds, complete with flat sheet and duvet cover. After some important safety messages, the two classes were met by their instructors, Badger and Kev, and the fun began!
Team-building and enhancing self-confidence were the aims of our trip, and they were certainly achieved. Towers of crates were scaled, swamps were negotiated, and trust and communication were needed to make sure that the whole group was safe and encouraged. The delicious food served helped to supply us with the energy we needed to complete our activities. By bedtime, everyone was tired out, and thankful that we had made up our beds in the morning!
We had a great time together, learning new things about ourselves and our classmates.
