Laidlaw North Christmas Meal
6th December, 2017
On Tuesday evening, the boys of Laidlaw North headed out to sample the delights of Penicuik. Little Italy had served us so well last year that we opted for the same again and upon our arrival we were greeted as long-lost friends. Much to the horror of the guests already present in the restaurant, 52 hungry teenage boys traipsed in and sat staring longingly at the buffet table, though, to their credit, their behaviour throughout the meal was impeccable. Our host, Roberto, laid on a fantastic spread of penne picante, spaghetti carbonara, rigatoni paparazzi, calamari fritti, chips, mozzarella sticks and a selection of pizzas- as much as the boys could eat, and that is no mean feat! This was all washed down with soft drinks followed by a traditional Italian gelato. The evening was a great chance for the boys to unwind after a long and busy term and it was also an opportunity to thank all the Laidlaw North tutors for their massive contribution to the House this term. With good food and convivial company the evening was soon over and it was time to head home to sleep off the soporific effects of excessive amounts of pizza…roll on Christmas 2018!
