Maths Fun Day
1st April, 2019
The annual Maths Fun Day took place on 14 March. It is an activity for primary five children, which involved almost 130 children from 30 different primary schools. In the morning, they played mathematical games and solved puzzles in teams of four. After a substantial lunch, they were ready to compete in the relay, where they work in pairs on challenging mathematical questions.
Although the activity is in the form of a competition, the main aim is to encourage the teams to enjoy themselves. Judging by the children’s smiley faces and yells of excitement, the goal was certainly achieved! Many thanks from the Mathematics Department to Miss Mullan, who superbly organised the event and used her creativity to introduce new questions and challenges.
