Merchiston Golf Academy
9th January, 2018
Merchiston Juniors are setting out an early goal for the season ahead. The youngsters are determined to remain at the top of the ISGA UK National Rankings list for the 2017/18 season. Currently ranked number 2 nationally, the boys are excited for the season opener to get underway. With a busy tournament schedule planned, the junior leagues start in March and we end in June with the UK National league finals at Radley College.
Director of Golf, Alan Murdoch, says “we have been really strong over the last three years, with some of the world’s most talented junior golfers coming to school at Merchiston. It is great fun working with the boys every day and to have the opportunity to help them in so many different ways: for me, this is what is rewarding. Yes, ranking lists are great, however, the players’ development is the key to a successful golf programme. This week, school starts back and the boys will be straight into training hard on their individual technical aspects and conditioning programmes throughout January and February.”
To have Merchiston at the top of the UK rankings for the last three seasons (2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17) really has been an incredible achievement and very rewarding to the boys and, of course, to all the staff who have made the Merchiston Golf Academy the success it is today.
Good luck to all our Golf Academy boys in 2018.
