Merchiston Juniors
House: Pringle
Merchiston Juniors comprises five age groups: all the boys are the responsibility of the Head of Merchiston Juniors. Boys in J4, J5 and First Form have their lessons in the Pringle Centre, which is a few metres away from Pringle House, the base for all Juniors pupils, whether full boarding, flexi-boarding or day. In Second and Third Forms, whilst sharing the boarding house with the younger boys, pupils are taught in the main school buildings a short distance up the drive.

When a boy moves on from Merchiston Juniors, he enters the Fourth Form as a member of Chalmers West House, which, together with the other Middle Years Houses, is located in the heart of the School. Historically there have always been more boarders in the Middle Years than the Juniors, but day boys remain fully integrated into House arrangements.
