Day 2 in the Life of a Tennis Academy Pupil
Jacob, Lower VI Former and Co-Captain of Tennis, has travelled to Moldova this week for the Grade 2 ITF Junior World Ranking tennis event. He will be competing in matches all week in order to improve his ITF ranking. We will publish daily diary entries written by Mr Ashforth, Graduate Sports Assistant, who is accompanying Jacob on this trip.

Day 2
It could be said that our second day in Chisinau has been a rather frustrating one!
The day started with much excitement and enthusiasm as Jacob made his way to his practice session, starting at 7.30am. However, that was to be his only piece of tennis action for the remainder of the day.
We returned to the hotel for some rest and a chance to study after the practice session, with the intention of making our way back down to the tennis club around 1pm. We did just this and were hopeful of Jacob’s match starting around 4pm. However, at 8.30pm, with another match still to play, we were instructed to make our way back to the hotel and the match would be rescheduled, much to Jacob’s disappointment.
The match will now take place tomorrow morning, following another 7.30am practice session. The doubles draw has also been made, in which Jacob and his partner will face the top seeds, hopefully in the afternoon.
